The federal health authorities have apprised the media that the new variant of corona virus has been found in Sindh.
Moreover, Covid-19 samples of 12 UK returnees were taken for examining their DNA sequence using biological assays and comparing it to a reference sequence. Six out of them were tested positive and three tests indicated the new variant of the Covid-19 virus, as per the Sindh Health Department.
The Sindh health department spokesperson said, “The Genotyping showed 95% match of the new variant from the UK. These samples will go through another phase of genotyping.”
However, the sufferers and their contacts have quarantined themselves.
This may be noted that, in an exclusive interview with Dialogue Pakistan, Chief Executive Officer of Indus Hospital Dr Abdul Bari Khan has confirmed that the new variant can be identified through the same test and can be cured through the same available vaccine.
