 Netizens laud Malala for convincing CM Punjab to ban corporal punishment

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced imposing a ban on giving corporal punishment in schools and madaris at the request of Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai.

He added that awarding physical punishment to students, especially to female students will not be acceptable at all.

Girls education rights activist Malala Yousafzai touched down in Lahore on Tuesday to attend different seminars.

Malala is being accompanied by her parents and husband Asser Malik on her visit to Pakistan.

Malala reached Punjab CM House to meet Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and son Moonis Elahi to discuss future strategies and plans of Malala Fund Pakistan.

Promotion of education in the province especially in girls’ education and the STEAM programme was also discussed.

Malala lauded  CM Punjab’s reform program in the education sector.

At this, she requested Punjab CM to ban corporal punishments in the school, colleges and universities of the province.

Punjab CM ensured her that he will make legislations in the Punjab Assembly to ban the punishment in schools and madaris.

Following the development, Netizens praised Malala for always being the voice of students especially female students.
