Streaming website Netflix has blocked the release of the controversial film “Cuties” in Turkey.
Netflix decided to suspend the release of the film after threats from the Turkish government. Netflix has been criticized around the world for portraying a teenage Muslim girl in a very bold role in the film.
Cuties’ story revolves around an 11-year-old Muslim girl from a refugee family in the African country of Senegal. The film explores the trends that adolescents face.
The film shows how this teenage girl’s bold dance becomes friendly and obscene with boys after having a free environment after befriending other French girls of the same age.
