National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) will hold a public hearing of complaints on 10th July because of untimely load-shedding by K-Electric, says the regulatory body in a press release.


The statement on 6th July stated that “All interested stakeholders and the general public may participate in the [public] hearing to share their views/comments regarding the load-shedding position in Karachi”. The hearing will be held on July 10 via Zoom because of the current situation.


Pre-registration can be done by the public to get the video link ID and password. In a public advertisement through newspapers, Nepra said that in order to attend the hearing people will have to send an email to the Registrar office ([email protected]).

The body also noticed the extra billing been done by KE, whereas in the last month complaints of unannounced load shedding in Karachi were noticed by the authorities, also the power utility was directed to submit a detailed report in this regard.
