ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has decided to purchase all equipment for coronavirus protection from local market.
According to NDMA’s spokesperson, the decision was taken to support the local industry and benefit country’s development.
The spokesperson said all protective equipment, except N-95 masks, were being manufactured in Pakistan. He said companies interested to manufacture N-95 mask would be supported.
It should be noted that employees of Mardan Medical Complex have started manufacturing protective kits and face masks themselves after medical staff faced their shortage.
The administration of Mardan Medical Complex has given this responsibility to their employees. They make around 150 to 200 masks and 20 to 30 safety kits a day.
