Nawaz Sharif’s property to be auctioned
To collect the fines of £8 million imposed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, authorities are ready to auction off the property of the former premier.
As per media reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is all set to auction off the agricultural property of the former Prime Minister to recover the fines imposed by NAB in multiple cases.
Nawaz Sharif has agricultural lands on his name situated in Jati Umrah, Lahore. The auction is scheduled to be held on November 19.
A notice regarding the auction has also been posted at the Jati Umrah residence of Nawaz Sharif.
Anyone can come and bid in the auction. NAB and FBR officials are also instructed to be present at the auction.
Earlier in April, Nawaz Sharif’s assets were ordered to be auctioned by Accountability Court as the former premier was considered as absconder in the case.
The decision of the Accountability Court was then challenged by three petitioners namely Aslam Uzair, Iqbal Barkat, and Muhammad Arshad Malik.
Later, the petition was rejected as the auction was completed on the orders of the Accountability Court. 88 kanal and four marla land located in Ferozepur, Sheikhupura owned by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz founder was auctioned.
