LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Saturday said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s bone marrow was working fine and his health condition was on a trajectory of improvement.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Dr Yasmin Rashid said, “Her party was not playing any politics on Nawaz’s health.”
She said a heart patient was always at risk and she never said that he was out of danger. Nawaz faced difficulty in breathing last night and he had a minor angina attack as well, she confirmed. She said the good news was that his diabetics and blood pressure were under control.
She said report about his health was daily being submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

On this occasion, Dr Shams said the former PM’s platelet condition would hopefully be normal in one week.
Physician of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, who is also a member of the medical board responsible for looking after Sharif, has repudiated the government report that the illness had been diagnosed.
The definitive diagnosis was yet to be ascertained, he said. “Former PM #NawazSharif is being managed on the lines of Acute ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) treatment protocol, on Platelet Transfusions, IV Steroids & IV Immunoglobulins.”
In a series of tweets, Dr Adnan wrote, “Mr Sharif having severe atherosclerotic Coronary & Carotid Artery Disease with co-morbidities (HTN, DM, CKD) & because of subsequent serious effects of treatment developed NSTEMI (Non ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction); being managed on ACS protocol.”
“Critical Thrombocytopenia (Low Platelets count) & NSTEMI (Non ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction), both of serious nature & consequences, has made the clinical status extremely & critically unstable putting health & life of Mr. Sharif at risk. Allah SWT Kareem. Allah Shaafi!”
