Nawaz Sharif seemed completely fine while speaking from London: Shibli Faraz
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz on Monday said that former prime minister, who was allowed to go abroad on bail for treatment, seemed to be completely fine while speaking from London on Sept 20.
Implementing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s order, the information ministry allowed airing of speeches of the opposition, he said adding that Nawaz Sharif tried to make the process of general elections shady. He said the elections won by the ex-premier were all right for him and those lost by him were dubious.
He said this while addressing a press conference in response to the multiparty conference of the opposition a day earlier. Planning Minister Asad Umar, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry were also present on this occasion.
Asad Umar said Nawaz Sharif was not looking less healthy than Fawad Chaudhry. Pakistan military was attacked in the opposition’s “All Parties Conference”, he said adding that specially Nawaz’s speech pleased India.
He said the military and civil leaderships were working in cooperation. He said Indian media highlighted Nawaz’s speech and termed it his return in politics with attack on army.
Asad Umar said the opposition parties opposed the FATF bills which had nothing to do with any political party. The opposition set condition of amendment in the NAB laws in a bid to protect themselves, he said.
Fawad said that the government knew that Nawaz would not return, therefore it had set condition of Rs7 billion surety bonds for his release.
