Nawaz Sharif blames ‘Difficult Decisions’ for PML-N failure in Punjab by-polls
Following the PML-N’s thumping defeat at the hands of PTI in the Punjab by-elections, the party’s supremo, Nawaz Sharif, blamed the “difficult decisions” taken by the coalition government for its failure.
According to sources, Nawaz Sharif contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz and directed them to call an emergency meeting of the party for the future plan of action in the context of the results of the by-elections.
Nawaz Sharif said that (N-League) has suffered loss due to difficult decisions, but we respect the opinion of the people.
Earlier, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that her party should graciously accept defeat in the Punjab by-polls and submit to the will of the people.
“Wherever there are weaknesses, efforts should be made to identify them and overcome them,” she said on her party’s performance in the by-polls.
It should be noted that according to the results of the by-elections held on 20 seats of Punjab Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won 15 seats and Muslim League (N) won 4 seats while one seat won by an independent candidate.
