LONDON: On Wednesday, President Shahbaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that Nawaz Sharif’s health is still serious and they have to change care procedures twice due to his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s absence. He said that until Maryam is with him, Nawaz Sharif declined to undergo surgery.
He said that at that moment Maryam Nawaz was supposed to be with Nawaz Sharif, but she is not allowed to travel abroad to meet her father. He said the current state of Nawaz’s health is critical because of the complicated and deadly illnesses he faces.
Shahbaz said Nawaz has already undergone open heart surgery twice, and he was diagnosed with severe contractions in his veins during ongoing treatment at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He said this left a large part of Nawaz’s heart disturbed.
Shahbaz said Nawaz was in jail when Kulsoom Nawaz died fighting against cancer that had a negative impact on his health. He said it was Maryam Nawaz who at that time remained a source of strength for the leader of the PML-N but it is unfortunate that at this critical juncture she is not allowed to visit her ailing father.

The president of the PML-N requested that Maryam Nawaz be allowed to visit Nawaz Sharif for humanitarian reasons immediately as her absence delayed her cardiac catheterization process twice. He called for respect for Nawaz Sharif’s right to care, saying any further delay would reduce the medicine’s treatment options.
Maryam Nawaz has already lodged a plea with the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to go abroad to visit her ill father.
