NAWABSHAH: Nawabshah got hit by earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on Tuesday morning. No loss is reported till now.
According to the meteorological department the depth of earthquake was 10 kilometers and the epicenter was located 72 kilometers east of Nawabshah.
Residents were observed rushing out of their houses while reciting Qura’anic verses due to the fear generated among them.
Previously, in 2016, an earthquake of the magnitude of 4.9 was felt in Nawabshah and neighboring areas. Which was recorded on depth of 20 kilometers and was located on 60 kilometers of Northeast Nawabshah.
Pakistan is situated at the north-western side of the Indian subcontinent and overlays the tectonic plates of India and Eurasia. Sindh and Punjab lie on the northwestern corner of Indian plate whereas Eurasian plates are connected with most of the part of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
