National Taekwondo championship concludes in South Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: National Taekwondo championship, which was held at Cadet College Spinkai in South Waziristan, has concluded on Thursday (today).

According to the media wing of armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), eight teams from all provinces as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad participated in the event.

More than 200 athletes from across Pakistan participated in one of the biggest and first ever Taekwondo event of its kind in Waziristan.

The team of Waziristan (Wazirstan Azmarai) won the championship while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team bagged runner up trophy.

The event was organised to provide opportunities to local youth to compete at par with sportsmen from other provinces at the national level.
