National Identity card will not be required for census: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said that the army will provide security in the census process and there will be no requirement of identity card for the census.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, Asad Umar said that census is necessary for future planning in the country that is why it is so important to use latest technology of the world for census.
Asad Omar said that the army’s job in the census will be security, 10 billion hardware and software are being taken, 5 billion has been set aside for current expenditure this year.
He further said that if any one using resources while living in Pakistan, it will be counted, the person who is going for employment will be counted as well and census is not related to the national identity card, people.
Asad Omar concluded, we are not planning to impose curfew during the census and curfew is imposed only if the census is for one day.
