National grass skiing competition begins for first time in Pakistan
National grass skiing has started for the first time in Pakistan, now ski enthusiasts will be able to ski in winter as well as summer.
For the first time in history, grass skiing competitions were held in picturesque valley of Malam Jabba in which tourists showed their keen interest. 11 teams participated in these competitions.
In the Malam Jabba Grass Skiing Competition, women skiing on grass received a standing ovation from the fans. Amna Sohail from Hunza bagged the first position in skiing.
A grass slope is formed in Malam Jabba where not only adults but kids also show their skiing skills.
Adviser to the Prime Minister Malik Amin Aslam, who was the chief guest at the event, said that in snow skiing athletes slide on ice while in grass skiing athletes show off their talents by walking. Prizes were also distributed among players at the end of the ceremony.
