The 25th death anniversary of Pakistan’s renowned poetess Parveen Shakir is being observed today (Thursday).
The self-made poetess was born on 24th November, 1952 and had an eastern style in her poems. Parveen Shakir not only expressed her self through her poetry but also highlighted struggles of working women.
Her famous poetry books include, Khushbu, Khud Kalami and Inkar. The youth is still mesmerized by the spontaneity of expression in her poetry.
Parveen Shakir is remembered for the depiction of romanticism in her poetic work. She also portrayed the issues related to women. At an early age, the poetess publisher her first poetry book ‘Khushbu’.
Parveen Shakir was died in a car accident in Islamabad on December 26, 1994, while going to work.
