Nation remembers Marium Mukhtiar on fifth death anniversary
The fifth martyrdom anniversary of Marium Mukhtiar, the first female martyred flying officer pilot of the Pakistan Air Force, is being celebrated today.
The daughters of the country are also by the side of their brothers in the defense of the homeland. Marium Mukhtiar, who joined the Pakistan Air Force for the same cause, was martyred and became the first female martyr pilot of Pakistan.
This fearless and courageous daughter of the nation was martyred on November 24, 2015, during a routine flight on a training plane due to a technical malfunction near Mianwali. When the plane broke down, Marium took a brave decision and turned it towards an uninhabited area.
She opened her eyes on May 18, 1992 in Shar-e-Quaid. She passed the Intermediate Examination from Army Public School and College, Malir Cantt, Karachi. She has been the best football player as well as playing for Balochistan United in the National Women’s Football Championship.
Mukhtiar joined the Pakistan Air Force in 2014 as a graduate. She was from PAF’s 132nd GD Pilot Course, which was attended by 6 other women.
