Nation in shock over court’s judgment in high treason case, says Chohan

KARACHI: Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has said that Pervez Musharraf is not a traitor and the whole nation is in shock over the decision of the special court in high treason case.
He said while addressing a press conference in Lahore on Wednesday.
He stated that when the terrorists launched an attack on Khana-e-Kaaba, a cohort Pakistan Army was sent under the command of Musharraf to counter the militants.
He asked, “How can a person who saved Kaaba be a traitor?”
Chohan maintained that Musharraf had fought three wars and also defended his country on Indian media channels.

He added that the court’s verdict has come as a surprise to the nation and the government will talk about the new course of action regarding the judgement.

The information minister said that sacrifices of the Armed Forces of Pakistan are not concealed from anyone. He said the armed forces always made efforts for the benefit of the country and its people.
