Nation celebrates 144th birthday of poet of the East Allama Iqbal
9 September 2021 marks the 144th birth anniversary of the Allama Iqbal, poet of the East, philosopher, critical thinker, and whatnot. He was the one who first dreamt of individual land for the Muslims, he was the one who provoked Muslims of the subcontinent to get united and work for the betterment of the nation.
The poet of the East is considered the founding father of Pakistan for his idea and work for a separate homeland.
Pakistan celebrates the 144th birthday of Dr. Allama Iqbal with zeal as the ceremony of change of guard was held at the tomb of Allama Iqbal in Lahore.
Allama Iqbal was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877. Since the beginning, he was fond of receiving knowledge and education. He went on to receive a Ph.D. degree in philosophy from the University of Munich, Germany.
The revolutionary poet of the 20th century was admired by youth then and is admired by all critical thinkers now. Iqbal has contributed so much to the field of literature. A few of his literary work includes Payam- i-Mashriq, Asrar-e-Khudi, Bal-i-Jibril, Bang-i-Dara, Armughan-e-Hijaz, and Zarb-i-Kalim. Other than that who can forget the iconic poetry Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa.
The literary work of Dr. Allama was translated into many languages including Chinese, English Spanish, and Japanese.
There is a street in Heidelberg, Germany with the name of Dr. Allama Iqbal where the legendary philosopher resided for six months to learn the Gernamn language.
After suffering from a mysterious throat illness, the poet of the East bid his last goodbye to the world and passed away on April 21, 1938, in Lahore.
