Najam Sethi appoints Shahid Afridi as Chief Selector

Najam Sethi-led PCB management committee on Saturday appointed former star all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi as interim Chief Selector of the Pakistan men’s cricket team.
Taking to twitter, newly appointed Chairman PCB Management Committee Najam Sethi announced the interim selection committee.
“I am pleased to announce, with immediate effect, an Interim Selection Committee for the New Zealand tour. It comprises Shahid Afridi (Chief Selector),” he wrote.
Sethi added that former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and right-handed pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum will be the convener with Haroon Rashid.
Earlier a day, it was reported by sources that PCB Management Committee removed all members of the cricket’s governing body including Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim.
The PCB Management Committee has informed the members of the Governing Board that they have been sacked after the PCB 2019 Constitution stamped out.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a 14-member management committee and appointed former PCB chairman Najam Sethi as its chief, in order to revive the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) 2014 Constitution.
The PCB 2014 Constitution will reinstate the departmental sports in the country, which was earlier abolished by former prime minister Imran Khan.
