Naila Alam is the first female Pakistani-American city council member in Herndon, Virginia.
According to the US Embassy in Pakistan, Naila is playing a crucial role as a public representative to help underprivileged and minority communities in the Virginia and Washington, D.C. area to inoculate against coronavirus.
The Pakistani-American city council member approached the people who do not use internet or other technologies in a bid to make them realize importance of coronavirus vaccine.
In 2017, she was presented the ‘Honor of the Hope Award’ by the White House for her humanitarian work under her philanthropic venture called ‘Express Care’, which provides medicine and essential commodities, such as food and medicine, to low income individuals. The organisation also helps unemployed people in getting a job.
