KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Nabil Gabol has denied the news report of attempted murder by him of Chairman Fishermen Cooperative Housing Society Hafiz Abdul Barr in Karachi.
Watchman of the house of Hafiz Abdul Barr, Ghulam Shabbir has lodged a case against the PPP leader for torturing him and vandalising the property. The complainant said he hit main gate of the house located in Defence Housing Authority Phase 2 with his vehicle before barging into it. He said Gabol was accompanied by Feroze Ali Gaba and other accomplices.
Ghulam Shabbir said Nabil Gabol snatched his repeater and Gaba slapped him. “They asked me about whereabouts of the chairman Fishermen Cooperative Housing Society saying that they had arrived to kill him. They also vandalized furniture and accessories of the house,” he said.
On the other hand, Hafiz Abdul Barr claimed that he had repudiated the PPP leader’s illegal demand of establishing a factory in the red zone upon which he had threatened him.
He said a case was sub judice in the high court against establishment of an illegal factory at fish harbor on the place of a cold storage. He said Gabol had asked him to withdraw the case.
The chairman fisheries said he and his family members had threat from Nabil Gabol and he had informed the PPP leadership as well about it. He said the said factory was established at red zone where no factory could be set up.
