NAB summons two close associates of Maulana Fazl ur Rehman

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned two close associates of Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman in a case pertaining to assets beyond means, corrupt practices and embezzlement.
Gul Asghar and Noor Asghar have been summoned by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 11:00am on Dec 10. A combined investigation team of the accountability bureau will grill them.
This should be noted that an investigation was launched against Fazlur Rehman as well in assets beyond means case on Sept 22.
A couple of months ago the accountability watchdog had summoned the JUI-F chief in a corruption case. In Sept the following year, the NAB had arrested a close aide of Fazl from Peshawar in a case pertaining to assets beyond legal sources of income.
Chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on Tuesday said that next course of actions against the government would be decided in PDM’s Lahore meeting.
“Whatever the decision would be, keeping in view the ground realities, it would be implemented. Our eyes are set on Dec 13 gathering of Lahore now,” Maulana Fazl ur Rehman said while addressing a media briefing in Multan. He was flanked by former prime minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Yousaf Raza Gillani.
