NAB recommends cancellation of Nawaz Sharif’s passport, national identity card

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recommended cancellation of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s travel documents including passport and national identity card.
A letter sent to the Ministry of Interior by the NAB director general has given reference of the arrest warrants issued by the court against Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana case.
It read that the process of declaring the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo a proclaimed offender has been initiated, therefore his travel documents should be cancelled.

“Nawaz Sharif is one of the nominated accused in Toshakhana case. He deliberately absented himself from the court and after due process he has been declared proclaimed offender with the direction that whenever he is arrested, he be produced before the court.
“Copies of the court order and perpetual non-bailable arrest warrant are forwarded for processing of blacklisting/ cancellation of the passport and blockage/ impounding of the CNIC of the accused through the Ministry of Interior,” read the letter.
