Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has said that the NAB Amendment Ordinance, 2019 will be brought to the Parliament for approval. He asked parliamentarians to put forth “workable and positive” suggestions for improving the ordinance.
In a statement, Mahmood said reforms in the NAB law were overdue for a long time as a special parliamentary committee was also set up during PML-N tenure for the purpose.

He added, the body had done a lot of work on the reforms but unfortunately, could not finish the assigned task.
FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi stressed that a plan in the form of the ordinance has been floated by the incumbent government.
This draft law will be brought to Parliament for legislation, the foreign minister said, asking parliamentarians to give suggestions in this regard, only if they wish.
Shah said that evidences have gathered by the anti-graft watchdog in several cases which appeared incomplete while the prosecution’s arguments were weak in other cases, due to that, many people were successful in looting the national treasure.
FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi denied the impression that NAB is being used for arm-twisting of political opponents.
