NAB initiates inquiry to investigate sugar, wheat shortages

NAB has agreed to open an inquiry into the recent shortages of wheat and sugar.

According to sources inside NAB, the legal department of the office will look into the matter, following which an unbiased investigation will be carried out.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed an inquiry into the shortage, mentioning the names of PTI leaders Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar as major beneficiaries of government subsidies in the report submitted to him.

NAB says the case will be further investigated and those responsible punished. NAB chairman has ordered all documents related to the case to be obtained by the investigation team.
