NAB chairman took notice of reports about closure of Roosevelt Hotel in New York

ISLAMABAD: The chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken notice of reports of closure of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
According to a statement issued by NAB, Chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal has ordered DG NAB Rawalpindi to investigate the news regarding closure of PIA-owned Hotel.
According to the NAB, the investigation will look into why there was a need to close the national asset Roosevelt Hotel.
The NAB statement said the investigation would also look into the reasons for the alleged loss of millions of dollars to the government of Pakistan and identify those responsible for allegedly failing to perform their national duties. Negligence did not play a role in making the hotel profitable.
Last week, the permanent closure of New York’s famous Hotel, owned by the national airline PIA, was announced.
The hotel’s website states that the hotel has been closed permanently since October 31, but the message was later removed.
