NAB arrests Fazlur Rehman’s close aide
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday arrested Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s close aide Moosa Khan.
The JUI-F leader was arrested from Sherpao area in Peshawar and presented in an accountability court in a case pertaining to assets beyond legal sources of income.
Moosa Khan has served as district forest officer, while his song Tariq Baloch is personal secretary of the JUI-F chief.
An investigation was launched against Fazlur Rehman as well in assets beyond means case on Sept 22.
In August the following year, the NAB had grilled former commissioner of Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zia ur Rehman.
The NAB had summoned Zia ur Rehman on Aug 25 at 11:00am at its Peshawar office. He was accused of embezzlement in buying and selling of government machineries and illegal appointments. He was also accused of accumulating assets beyond means of income.
