NAB appeals for cancellation of bail of Khursheed Shah’s family rejected

The family of PPP leader Khursheed Shah also got a big relief from the Supreme Court.
The bail of Sindh provincial minister Owais Qadir Shah has also been upheld. The Chief Justice remarked that if the main accused is on bail then how the co-accused can be sent to jail, it is not right to make a case against anyone without solid evidence.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the NAB appeals. The Chief Justice said that the co-accused included Khursheed Shah’s wives, children and relatives who did not need to be arrested.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that Khursheed Shah has been granted bail on the basis of defective evidence. The NAB prosecutor said that the contractor Abdul Razzaq paid a commission of Rs 2.5 million to Khurshid Shah. The contractor could not be reached for comment.
Justice Ayesha Malik said that in return for which contract Khurshid Shah got 2.5 million commission? On what basis is a check quorum or commission called? The Chief Justice remarked that the contractor may have paid tribute to Khurshid Shah. The NAB should work hard in the investigation and prove its case in the trial court.
