“My relation with my husband Zaheer isn’t good, I’ve separated from my husband,” says Dua Zahra
A Lahore court sent Karachi teenager Dua Zahra to a shelter home following a court order.
Dua Zahra had applied to the court that her parents and others are threatening her life with dire consequences.
She stated in the application that her relationship with her husband was not good and she spent the night at a relative’s house with great difficulty.
Dua Zahra had pleaded in the application that she wants to go to Darul Aman Lahore of her own free will, so the court should order her to be sent to Darul Aman.
In the light of Dua Zahra’s statement, the court ordered to send her to Darul Aman.
After Lahore court ordered to send Karachi teenager Dua Zahra to a shelter home, Jibran Nasir, the counsel for Dua’s father, said that Zaheer and his accomplices can “go to any length” to save their own lives.
“Please see the application submitted in name of Dua Zahra. She says my relations with my husband Zaheer isn’t good, I have separated from my husband and have no protection from parents, hence I need to go to Darul Aman,” said Nasir in a tweet along with a picture of Dua’s application submitted to the court.”
On the other hand, Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms Unit (SRU) program Chief Salman Sufi said in a tweet that in the light of the court decision, Dua Zahra has been at Dar uL Aman under strict security and protection.
He said that he has requested the Sindh government to send a team of Child Protection Bureau to take Dua Zahra to her parents while Zaheer is being traced for arrest.
