My properties frozen through nexus of NAB, Imran Khan: Shehbaz Sharif

LONDON: President Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said his properties had been frozen through the nexus of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
“I have always said that Imran Niazi and the NAB have nexus and their nexus has failed once again. The accountability watchdog is a part of the Niazi team,” Shehbaz Sharif blamed while addressing a press conference in London.
He expressed concerns over the political situation in the country. He said instead of the NAB, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeem Bukhari presented arguments in court against him. “Naeem has voluntarily decided to withdraw the petition filed against my bail plea in Ashiyana Housing Scheme case, after he could not present a solid evidence.”

Among many things, the court asked if there was any wrong in public private partnership projects, for which they had no answer, he said.
The leader of the opposition in the National Assembly said all his assets were declared with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
“I have said this before and I reiterate that I will leave politics if corruption of even a single penny is proved against me,” he said.
He said he was summoned in Saaf Pani case and arrested in Ashiana Housing Scheme case. In February 2019, courts granted him bail on merit in both the cases, he added.
The seeds of anarchy was sown by the government and false cases were filed against the Sharif family, he said.
Shehbaz Sharif said prior to 2014, loadshedding was being carried out across the country for up to 20 hours a day which was reduced to zero or few hours after 2016. “Under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, we completed big projects and injected 11,000 megawatts power to the national grid,” he said.
