Mustafa Kamal blames Waseem Akhtar for filth in Karachi

KARACHI: Former mayor Karachi and Chairman Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday held Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar responsible for filth in Karachi.
On behalf of his party, Mustafa Kamal demanded from the government to place Waseem Akhtar’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) so that he could not flee and be held accountable. He blamed the incumbent mayor of money embezzlement and said huge amount of money could be recovered from him.
“The city government still has this much funds that it could maintain parks, lift garbage and clean rainwater drains. The mayor lies that he does not has money,” he said while addressing a press conference flanked by other PSP leaders including Anees Qaim Khani and Arshad Vohra in Karachi.
The ex-mayor said a good work could be done in the amount of funds currently held by the city government.
The PSP chairman said his tenure as the mayor of the biggest city of Pakistan was exemplary as the then chief justice of Pakistan had also acknowledged it and said that whoever wanted to know how to work should go to Karachi and see it.

Offal of sacrificial animals could not be lifted from different areas in Karachi despite passage of several days to Eid-ul-Adha, he said.
Due to defective cleanliness arrangements, offal were shifted from one place to another rather than dumping them on the land fill sites. Offal as well as piles of garbage could not be lifted from different places in Korangi Crossing, Liaquatabad No 10, Dak Khana, Dalmia, Shanti Nagar, Gulistan-e-Johar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Fetid and rancid odour have spread all over because of offal and rain-sewage-mixed water. Taking breath has become difficult for people.
