PSL6: Quetta Gladiators become first team to win match after losing toss

KARACHI: In the 14th fixture of the Pakistan Super League 6, Quetta Gladiators became first team to win the match after losing toss on Wednesday at the National Stadium Karachi.
Until now, all the 13 matches were won by the teams who won the toss and all the teams who won the toss opted to field first.
Batting first, Quetta Gladiators had put 176 on board against Multan Sultans. While Sultans were stifled at 154 all out. Qais Ahmed turned out to be the trump card for the winning side.
In the eighth over, James Vince (24) was caught behind off Qais Ahmed’s ball. In his next over, Qais trapped Shan Masood (1) for LBW out. In his third consecutive over, he took another wicket and this time Rilee Rossouw fell prey.
After that, Mohammad Hasnain dismissed Khushdil Shah and Carlos Brathwaite in the 17th over. While Zahid removed Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan (66 off 50), in the next over. Then, just on the next ball, Sohail Khan threw his wicket.
Earlier, Multan Sultans won the toss and opted to bowl first against Quetta Gladiators.


Quetta Gladiators openers put on a solid start with 69 runs’ partnership, until Saim Ayub (23) was removed by Imran Tahir in the eighth over. Usman Khan’s fiery debutant stint, 81 off 50, came to an end in Imran Tahir’s over.
Sohail Khan removed Faf du Plessis in the 15th over for 27. Then Mohammad Imran Khan bowled out Gladiators skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed for 3. After that Azam Khan was shown the exit off Shahnawaz Dahani in 18th over. In the same over, Dahani took another scalp, Ben Cutting.
