KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazl leader Qari Usman on Tuesday said that contrary to media reports Jamia Ahsan ul Uloom’s principal Mufti Zarwali Khan died of cardiac arrest at the age of 67.

He said the founder of Karachi’s Jamia Ahsanul Uloom was a patient of heart disease. He went for a regular check-up on Sunday to the hospital and breathed his last during treatment for the ailment, he maintained.

Qari Usman said that Mufti Zarwali did not die of coronavirus.

On the other hand, citing hospital sources, local media had reported that the religious scholar died after contracting the viral disease.
