MQM Pakistan will hold a rally today to give rights to the people of Karachi. During the rally, party leaders are also expected to launch the Karachi March campaign and announce protests.
MQM Pakistan will take to the streets in Karachi on September 24 for its rights. A rally will be held from Karimabad to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum on September 24.
The rally will begin at 2 p.m. Workers and leaders will march from Karimabad to Quaid-e-Azam. An alternative traffic plan has also been announced.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had said that the people would have to take to the streets to end the quota system and solve the problems.
Addressing a press conference in Bahadurabad, Karachi, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said, “The mandate of Karachi was snatched in 2018 and left at the mercy of the corrupt PPP.”
He had said that, “Sindh was left at the mercy of corrupt and racist PPP government. It is our constitutional right to demand that South Sindh be made a province. We are holding this rally against usurping the rights of the people of Karachi. I urge everyone to participate in this rally for the right of Karachi irrespective of race, language.”
It should be noted that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) is part of the ruling coalition in Pakistan Federal while Prime Minister Imran Khan had recently announced a package of Rs 1100 billion for Karachi.
