ISLAMABAD: The ruling coalition party MQM has parted from the government and resigned from the federal cabinet.

MQM’s two federal ministers Farogh Naseem and Aminul Haq have submitted their resignations to the Prime Minister’s House, after which the MQM has now parted from the regular cabinet.

Sources said that both the MQM ministers submitted their resignations after getting confirmation by the coordination committee.

Earlier, in an interview, Federal Minister for Law Farogh Naseem and Minister for IT Aminul Haq had said that they would submit their resignations shortly.

Before the No-Confidence motion, Prime Minister Imran Khan has been surprised by the opposition, the major government ally MQM-P agreed to vote for the opposition over No-Confidence Motion.

The agreement between the MQM and the opposition has also been confirmed by Bilawal Bhutto and Faisal Sabzwari.

Senator Faisal Sabzwari said in his tweet that the agreement between United Opposition and MQM Pakistan has been finalized while the details will be formally communicated to the media after the ratification of the proposed agreement by the PPP’s CEC and the MQM Pakistan Coordinating Committee.
