MQM-P filed petition against Sindh administration appointments heard in SHC
Sindh High Court (SHC) heard the petition filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Friday (today).
The petetition was filed by MQM-P MPA Khawaja Izharul Hassan. In the petition, it was requested that the notice should be issued to the provincial authorities so that they can give their response to the petition.
This request of the petitioner was declined by the SHC. Judges asked the petitioner that “do they want the government to host local body elections?”
To which the petitioner replied that they request the SHC to issue an order for the local bodies elections to be held as soon as possible.
The petitioner further demands from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to define the powers and limits that can be exercised by city administrators.

The Sindh High Court has adjourned the case hearing till December 2.
In the petition filed by MQM-P, the Administrator of Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Election Commission, the provincial government of Sindh have been asked for a formal response.
