Mourners on high after marijuana cake served at funeral

Attendees of a funeral event were accidentally served hashish cake which left them mildly sick and high.

The incident took place in Germany’s Rostock. First widow of the deceased complaint of malaise, followed by 12 other participants of the ceremony. They all were admitted to a hospital for medical assistance and drug test.

The Independent reported, “The funeral goers were attending the ceremony for a traditional cake and coffee reception at an open-air charcoal kiln museum in Wiethagen, near Rostock city.”

Police investigation revealed that 18-year-old daughter of museum’s employee had baked a brownie hash cake for herself, however, mother of the girl without knowing about it served the wrong cake to the guests.

Police spokesman Christopher Hahn said the guests were facing severe health issues and many of them were forced to stay at the hospital.

According to a German newspaper, Nordkurier, the teenager has been charged with 13 counts including negligent and dangerous bodily injury, disrupting a funeral and violation of the Narcotics Act.
