PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Minorities MPA Wazir Zada has signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government with representatives of Kalasha tribe regarding enforcement of Kalash Marriage Act.

Wazir Zada himself belongs to Kalasha, a tribe in Chitral. He said the government was going to introduce a marriage act according to tradition of Kalash. He said the bill in this regard would soon be tabled in the KP assembly for giving it a legal status.

He said services of Advocate Nabeg Kalash were being sought to compile the Kalash Marriage Act. He said it would be a historical day for the community.
