Motorway gang rape convicts challenge ATC verdict

LAHORE: The convicts of motorway gang rape have filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the decision of anti-terrorism court (ATC).
The culprits, Abid Malhi and Shafqat Bagga were granted death penalty, life imprisonment and fines on 20th March.
They were imprisoned at Camp Jail Ferozpur Road and were later transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail of Lahore for execution of the sentence.
However, the convicts have requested the high court to set aside the ATC verdict and order their release.
Earlier, on September 9, 2020, the two men had raped a woman in front of her three children on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway.
