Mosques to remain open during Ramadan: religious affairs minister
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Pir Muhammad Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has said that mosques would remain opened during Ramadan ul Mubarak.
“Like previous year, this year too places of worshipping will remain opened following coronavirus standard operating procedures,” Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said while addressing a ceremony in Peshawar.
He said 14 hafizes and qaris were selected through ‘All Pakistan Hifz o Qirrat’ competition to lead Qiyamul Lail in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
The country will move towards progress and prosperity, the minister said, adding, “There are 218 madrassas under the auspices of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat in which more than 40,000 students are studying and our forefathers taught us peace, love and tolerance. We continue this lesson to go with.”
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the security, stability and unity of the Muslim Ummah of Pakistan.
