Monsoon spell expected to enter Karachi next week
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that a new monsoon spell is expected to enter Karachi on September 22.
According to MET, the maximum temperature in the city is expected to remain between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, on Saturday (today).
Meanwhile, winds are blowing at the speed of 18 kilometers per hour.The weather will remain hot and humid in the next 24 hours.
Yesterday, the Met Office director Sardar Sarfaraz stated that Karachi’s weather will get better after September 17.
Sardar Sarfaraz further said that the sea breeze is likely to resturn and Karachi has experienced that the mercury hit 40 degrees Celsius this week.
Sarfaraz said that a low-pressure system is developing in Gujrat which has increased humidity and blocked the sea breeze.
Heavy showers with lighting and thunderstorms have been forecast in multiple areas of Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier on September 9, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted heavy rain, thunderstorm in Karachi .
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was expected to be recorded in Karachi is 27°C, whereas, the maximum temperature was likely to be 34°C.
Moreover, the humidity rate was recorded at 78% and the speed of the winds from the west was measured at 12 km/hr in the city.
On September 7, the weather turned pleasant with rain in different parts of Pakistan including the federal capital and Karachi.
Strong winds and rains in Islamabad broke the spell of heat and sultriness of the last few days, while the weather in Karachi has also turned pleasant with rains. The met department has predicted new series of rains.
