Monsoon rains not yet finished for Karachi: met office

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rains this week for Karachi.
PMD Meteorologist Liaquat told Dialogue Pakistan that light rains were expected in the megalopolis late night on Monday and early morning on Tuesday. While, intermittent rain may hit different areas on Wednesday, he said.
The PMD predicted rains this weekend starting on Friday in the city.
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure system coming from the Bay of Bengal is present inside Sindh.

It rained intermittently in different parts of Karachi last night. The weather was pleasant with drizzle at Saddar, II Chand Regar Road, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Clifton and Malir.
There was also drizzle in Super Highway area, Surjani Town, Sohrab Goth, Federal B Area, Khudadad Colony and Tariq Road.
The weather became pleasant due to rain in different parts of Punjab including the federal capital Islamabad on Monday.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other parts of Punjab received intermittent thunderstorms with heavy and light rains after which the weather in these areas became pleasant. More rain is expected in Islamabad.
According to the Meteorological Department, hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country on Monday. However, thundershowers are also expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kashmir.
