MoDP achieves capability to produce sanitizers, masks, protective suits per day

ISLAMABAD: Minister of Defence Production Zobaida Jalal on Wednesday said her ministry had achieved the capability to produce around 300,000 to 400,000 liters of sanitizers, 35,000 high quality masks and 400-500 protective suits per day.
In a press release, she said Pakistan Ordnance Factories had so far supplied around 200,000 masks and 350 protective suits to National Disaster Management Authority, while another 20,000 gowns were under preparation.
On the other hand, employees of Mardan Medical Complex have already started manufacturing protective kits and face masks themselves after medical staff faced their shortage.
The administration of Mardan Medical Complex has given this responsibility to their employees. They make around 150 to 200 masks and 20 to 30 safety kits a day.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is dispatching fourth consignment of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for doctors and health workers of Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to NDMA Spokesperson, these PPE include surgical masks, N-95 masks, protective gowns, gloves, shoe covers, surgical head covers, face shields, protective goggles, and sanitizers.
He said that fourth consignment of PPEs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already been sent. He said provision of PPEs is also continuing to hospitals of Punjab, Sindh, and Azad Kashmir.
