ISLAMABAD: Member of National Assembly Munir Khan Orakzai passed away due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday, several days after recovering from coronavirus disease.
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) lawmaker, 61, was elected from NA-45 constituency of District Kurram in the general elections 2018.
A relative of Munir Orakzai said he was tested positive for COVID-19 in April, however he had fully recovered from the disease after testing negative on May 8. He was found dead in his bed early in the morning.
The funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered at 3:00 pm at his native village Manduri in District Kurram.
President Arif Alvi has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of JUI-F leader and Member of National Assembly Munir Orakzai. The president prayed for the departed soul and commiserated with the bereaved family.

Dr Arif Alvi said the political services of the late leader would be remembered.
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Munir Khan Orakzai.
In a condolence message, they said that his social and political services would be remembered and this vacuum would not be filled for a long.
They prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul rest in peace and give patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Munir Orakzai.
In his condolence message, the chief minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.
