 Missing Dua from Karachi found in Pakpattan

Dua Zahra, a 14-year-old girl who went missing from Karachi on April 16, was found in Pakpattan. Police have taken Dua Zahra into custody from Pakpattan.

According to sources, Karachi police had shared the marriage certificate of Dua Zahra with Lahore police yesterday after which Lahore police started investigation in this regard.

Sources said that one of the witnesses in the marriage certificate was Asghar Ali whose was the resident of Haveli Lakha.

Police sources added that they investigated Asghar Ali to which he confessed that both Dua and Zaheer had come to him and were now in Pakpattan.

According to police sources, on Asghar Ali’s statement, police raided the house of a landlord in Pakpattan from where Dua and Zaheer were taken into custody.

Okara police also took a video statement of the girl in which she confessed that she came from home of her “own will”.

Okara police said the two would be produced in a local court and a decision on their custody would be taken in the light of the court’s order.

Sources reported that details about Zaheer have not come to light so far and according to the police, the two are being investigated as to how they became related.

Sources said that Zaheer was staying at his grand uncle’s house [landlord] in Pakpattan with Dua Zahra.

Besides, Dua Zahra and Zaheer also filed a harassment petition in the local court against her parents. Their marriage took place on April 17 while the petition was filed on April 19.

In the video statement, Dua Zahra said, “I came from my home of my own free will. My family members wanted to force me to marry someone else which I did not agree to. They used to physically torture me.”

“No one kidnapped me while I did not bring any valuables from home. My family members are misrepresenting my age. I am 18 years old. I got married to Zaheer Ahmed of my own free will. I am very happy with my husband in my house.” She added.

Earlier, 10 days ago, a 14-year-old girl Dua Zahra went missing from Golden Town area of ​​Karachi after which the police conducted raids at various places to search for her but the police had so far failed to find Dua Zahra.
