Micro Smart Lockdown imposed at several coronavirus hotspots in Karachi

KARACHI: Micro Smart Lockdown (MSLD) has been imposed at several coronavirus hotspots in three districts of Karachi for fortnight.

The hotspots have been marked in Bin Qasim, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir Cantt, Jafar Tayyar Society and other areas. The residents in the areas are not allowed to leave their places unnecessarily and visitors are not allowed in the areas.

The Malir deputy commissioner said that MSLD was imposed at 44 places after surfacing of 330 COVID-19 cases in Malir.

The DC said all shops but medical and grocery stores will remain closed, while the residents would have to follow all the COVID standard operating procedures including wearing masks. He said the restrictions would remain in place till Oct 15.

In Korangi district, Alfalah Society, Shadman Tower, Darakhshan Society and other areas were placed under the MSLD. While, the DC of East district said that five hotspots were marked in his district which would be locked down from Oct 3 to 17.
