 Met predicts thunderstorms in Karachi, other cities

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms to hit Karachi and other cities of Sindh province from Thursday.

Moreover, Met has warned that the thunderstorm can cause a great damage to weak structures.

Karachi may get rid of scorching heat and hot weather which is prevailing since a week, through thunderstorms and rains

Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Thar Parker, Umar Kot, Sanghar, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana would receive rain-wind-thunderstorm with isolated heavy fall from Thursday, September 23 to Saturday, September 25, the Met Department said in a statement.

On September 9, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted heavy rain, thunderstorm in Karachi.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was expected to be recorded in Karachi is 27°C, whereas, the maximum temperature is likely to be 34°C.

Moreover, the humidity rate was recorded at 78% and the speed of the winds from the west has been measured at 12 km/hr in the city.

On September 7, the weather turned pleasant with rain in different parts of Pakistan including the federal capital and Karachi.

Strong winds and rains in Islamabad broke the spell of heat and sultriness of the last few days, while the weather in Karachi has also turned pleasant with rains. The met department has predicted new series of rains.

Earlier, the meteorological department had forecast rains with strong winds and thundershowers in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure in Central India is increasing towards the west. Under system of new series of rains, rain with thunderstorm is expected in different districts of Sindh for the next three days.
