LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Jaleel Sharaqpuri on Friday said that meeting Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was not illegal.
He said this while addressing a press conference in Lahore in response to the media reports about his removal from party for meeting Buzdar.
“I did not violate party mandate. It is not written in party membership rules that one cannot meet a chief minister of opposition party for resolution of issues of his area,” he said.
Jaleel Sharaqpuri said no one can expel anybody from party for having difference of opinion. It was unconstitutional and illegitimate, he added.

“One should not have narrow-mindedness. Buzdar met him with affection for spiritual reasons. I was asked not to meet him again and I said I could not guarantee that,” he said adding that he was still a member of the PML-N. He said he met Buzdar to discuss local issues.
Rebuking the rhetoric of the party supremo, he said Nawaz’s policy of collision with state institutions was not suitable. He said it was not improper to criticize Nawaz Sharif’s wrong statement though.
“Our leadership should avoid spreading anarchy in the country. Rana Sanaullah is a respectable person but the behavious he adopted is not congruous. The country cannot sustain another crisis,” he said.
The PML-N had dissociated with five members of the Punjab Assembly for alleged violation of party discipline.
The Punjab MPAs had met Chief Minister Usman Buzdar last week. The MPAs had been identified as Chaudhry Ashraf Ansari, Mian Jaleel Sharaqpur, Nishat Khan Daha, Muhammad Ghiyas Ud Din and Muhammad Faisal Khan Niazi.
