Maulana Fazlur Rehman announces “Constitution Day” on Friday
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the united opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), announced the observance of Constitution Day on Friday.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman while addressing a press conference in Islamabad said that if the constitution is not respected then the existence of Pakistan will be questioned. It is the responsibility of our institutions to play their role for the protection of the constitution.
The PDM chief said that fair elections could not be expected from the unconstitutional measures of the government. How is Imran Khan sitting and working in the Prime Minister’s House? How is Imran Khan calling bureaucrats and giving instructions?
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that a dictator does not violate the constitution as ruthlessly as Imran Khan who was born from the cradle of dictatorship has created a constitutional crisis in the country through recent measures.
He added that the Supreme Court had taken suo moto notice which was a right step, the ruling of the Deputy Speaker should be declared null and void on priority basis and the members of the Assembly should be given the right to exercise their vote.
Maulana further said that the entire nation should celebrate the coming Friday as the day of protection of the Constitution of Pakistan.
