Maryam says senators being asked not to vote for PDM candidate

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President, Maryam Nawaz, has alleged that opposition members of the Senate are being called and asked not to vote for joint opposition candidate in the election for Senate chairman to be held on March 12 (tomorrow).
“Some of them have recorded the evidence,” Maryam Nawaz posts on Twitter without naming anyone.
Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani has been chosen as joint opposition candidate for the chairman while the outgoing chairman Sadiq Sanjrani is the government candidate.
In the Senate, the opposition alliance has slightly more seats than the government coalition but, according to experts, it is difficult to say which party is going to win the election tomorrow.
The election for the top offices of the Senate’s chairman and deputy chairman is scheduled to be held on March 12 through secret balloting.
